This is the second start for the brand new 428 cobra jet engine. The first engine ad major issues, so this one was totally rebuilt. All that remains from the original engine is the crank and block. Starting from the bottom end the crank is 20-20 and balanced with the new eagle H beam rods and flywheel, and clutch. Pistons are 040 with a slight dish for 9.70 compression.
Valvetrain: Crane adjustable aluminum rockers sit on top of the edelbrock aluminum heads and a comp cams bump stick. The LeMans valve covers are chomed.

A double roller timing chain connects the cam to the crank and a new harmonic balancer has been installed. The timing cover is chrome plated.

Iginition is a drop in MSD dizzy without the box, and a new ARP oil pump drive connects the CJ high pressure oil pump. The cobra tee pan sits under the engine with modified baffles and a ford hipo windage tray

Cooling is the high volume edelbrock water pump and a high flow thermostat.

Intake is an endurashine edelbock RPM manifold.

This engine was assembled like a race engine with the builder paying close attention to tolerances. We put a very conservative cam in the engine with reliability and driveability the main goal

  • very clean! Nice paint on inner fenders and strut tower. Looks real sharp!

  • @ceetwarrior Thanks, I spent a long time welding up holes and block sanding the inside of the engine bay, to make it look as nice as possible

  • Good thing is you sound like you didn't over-cam the motor.

FEs with hydraulics will take a lot of cam....but it basically kills the power-brake vacuum without doing much else......if you're buzzing it much above 6 you're just kidding yourself.

  • @Blago6actual Thanks for input, and I agree with your thoughts on the cam selection

  • wow that sounds awesome

  • @crisp2882 Thanks
