ARGH! I have such a love hate relationship with Matthew Williamson. He uses fur. I hate that. I wear leather shoes, I hate me. I'm not a prude and I know fur has been used forever, but it's still cruel. BUT DEAR GOD THIS MAN IS AN AMAZING TALENT! His furs do make sense with the outfits, but where he really stands is his sense of color, movement and texture. He simply is a genius in the fashion world and is one of only handful of people who could match Christian Lacroix, but CL is it!
I agree and I dislike the fact that the majority of fashion designers use fur as well . It's not necessary and it's not green like Canadian ads here claim .
Thanks moominu! I know that animals are part of the food/clothing chain and always will be, but if I can in some part reduce my intake of "meat" and wear less leather, then every little bit counts. But unless I'm living in the friggin' tundra, no, no, no, no, no to fur. You people have no idea how STUPID you look wearing it. It makes you look fat and gluttonous. Those are not upper class ideals in my book.
No problem Irice32 . I myself eat meat and have leather shoes and bags I wear but now I think twice about products that have animal testing , leather items , etc. By no means am I vegan or vegetarian although wish I could be . But I try my best to stay away from things that don't sound or look right to me . I hate seeing famous and regular people wear fur and especially when fashion houses bring it as a trend for fall , it's an outrage !
