It's absolutely beautiful...that kind of drone/bass thing...it sounds like that's exactly how it's supposed to be played. It's like the substance of grandeur beneath the illusion of this transitory world. Nice!!

I've never heard this piece before, but I think he meant it to be mysterious, like a beautiful woman, say...soft, dark, deep bass notes, and exquisite, singing melodies over...like a beautiful Venetian glass. Hope that inspires you with love.
