I remember listening to this when I was very very young and it would stay with me in my dreams. The night was hauntingly beautiful yet full of subtle power and I always played with red and indigo chesspieces.

A decade passed since the dreams disappeared and now I listen to this again.

I don't care about the title given, to me this was the lulluby.

Chopin wrote this song because right after he came from Poland to Paris, Poles start November Uprising (they wanted to free they country from Russia). He was so mad because he couldn't come back to fight with friends and he wrote this etude.

I can often see under Chopin movies that comments written in Polish are thumb down... :/

If someone hates Poles then dont listen to music of Fryderyk Chopen!

Thumbs up friend :)

It could just be that they didn't like what they were saying in Polish: not that they didn't like it being in Polish.

I get (and hold your breath)...

Men plotting and rallying for-- get this-- a revolution.

It's got a very strong... well, revolutionary feel. As I understand it he wrote it when Spain was undergoing many revolution outbreaks.

I believe its Poland, not 100% sure on that but yeah I believe it was written during the time Poland was undergoing a revolution itself and since Chopin was weak he used his music to influence people
