Volunteer Toronto & TIFF Celebrate Volunteers - December 5th Event

On December 5th, 2011, Volunteer Toronto, in partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival, held a gala event at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in celebration of the end of the United Nations Year of the Volunteer.

Guest speakers included:
John Stubbs, Board Chair of Volunteer Toronto
Michele Maheux, Chief Executive Officer of TIFF
Deborah Gardner, Executive Director of Volunteer Toronto
Joe Lambert, Executive Director of The Center for Digital Storytelling
Jessica Reynolds, Director of PR and Communications for Volunteer Toronto

The guest of honour and Keynote speaker was the Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada.

The event was also an opportunity to present 8 Digital Stories written, recorded and edited by volunteers as part of Volunteer Toronto and The Center for Digital Storytelling's new project, SharedTime.
