@JenjiDeVille2 In highschool I knew a handful of 'friends' (at the time) that just got the job for a paycheck and really had no other reason to work with these individuals. they would pretty much just drag them around wherever they went throughout the day. happens all the time.

This is adorable! Your son is beutiful!

Let me say firstly- you are doing an amazing job with Jamey..Secondly..last year I worked with a class of only autistic students at my school (it was a class that only a few students got to take to help out in) you can totally notice the difference between the more and less severe cases of autism. I can totally understand where you're coming from and you are doing an amazing job as a parent! (BTW I'm 14)

God bless you folks. Your strength and endurance and commitment is indescribable.
What is the lovely piece of music in this vid? I came to this set of Autism videos looking through some music therapy web sites.

I thought autist were just weird but often pretty smart. This guy is just a plain retard.
I am proud that families like yours decide against developmental homes. Not to say that they are all bad but majority of them do not follow their mission statement, hire high school kids, pay minimum wage and are understaffed. How can families be sure that their loved ones are receiving quality care when institutions hire anyone off the street.

@JenjiDeVille2 So true. There are little quality controls inside group homes. Likewise, state re-imbursement rates (especially medi-cal) don't make it easy for group home operators to offer educated, qualified workers.

@KanyeTroll please don't talk like that! Autism is why they act that way. They just can help it! Every single person in the world was put there for a reason. Maybe autism was put here to show how people shouldn't care about what they do or look like, even though they say we are all different, we are the same after all. So please don't talk about autism like that. Because it's not fair that they can help buy do all those things.

what a dumb kid. I hate autistic kids. Hate them with a passion. My autistic nephew has to be supervised all the time!!!! He never does any chores or anything productive. I don't know how he could be anything when he grows up. I have to stay away from him so that I'm not tempted to kick him in the face cuz he's just so annoying. God.

@KanyeTroll How sad that you feel this way towards a person who can't help being autistic. I hope you find some love for your nephew. He needs it. Try to see him as God would see him: perfect.
