Follow the Brazilian beat through the streets of Amsterdam
On the evening of October 3, AkzoNobel in cooperation with the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam's symphony orchestra) will host the spectacular opening ceremony of the Brasil Festival in Amsterdam.
Our opening evening will include a colorful Carnival-style parade through the streets of Amsterdam led by samba musicians and dancers. Culminating at the Museumplein -- the cultural heart of the city -- the ceremony will be presided over by Princess Máxima of the Dutch royal family, as well as AkzoNobel CEO Hans Wijers and other honored guests. The public event will include fireworks and a dance performance.
The Brazil Festival's theme, "de Rijkdommen van modern Brazilië" (translation: Treasures of Modern Brazil), is a month-long celebration of music, dance, art, film, architecture, economics, gastronomy and theater. Approximately 17 concerts will be held at the Concertgebouw during the Brasil Festival, as well as dozens of other performances and events at 20 other major cultural institutions throughout the city.
