According to a CBS News Poll, 56 percent of Americans see illegal immigration as a "serious problem." Bob Orr leads a roundtable discussion on the topic with Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Ali Noorani, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum.

  • Democrats are lucky to have Giffords. Giffords really seems to work for constituents.

Lol U need to learn some demographics man. XD

    and also statistical manipulation.

You need to re-evaluate your ethics man. One thing is to punish a man for committing a crime (which that can also be debated on the terms of law), the other is to KILL him.. If your case is for moral absolutism, then what is stopping the police from shooting on sight on anyone that's a suspect of a crime.

I recommend that you listen to both sides of the story, it's hard I know, but it's necessary to remain ethical.

Agreed, I the problem is simplified, and the roots of the problem are dismissed by our politicians. Why don't we hear about Mexico in the new on immigration? Could it be NAFTA and the over-dominance of U.S. enterprise on foreign soil that's causing this overflow of immigrants? Are we blaming the effect rather than the cause?

Thanks for bringing this up, as I said before this topic is too simplified..

  • Why can't the problem be fixed in Mexico where government corruption has exceeded any legitimate authority, even during socialist regimes?

  • The Arizona Border needs to be turned into a Live Fire Range for the Army, Airforce, and Marines, until The Federal Government Establishes A US Army Or Marine Base on the Border Than All Of This Is A Joke.Until America lays LandMines And Claymores you are Not Serious. And the Federal Government is especially to blame Because all the Suits on Capitol Hill Need Votes.

  • @commentator10 Doing something illegal is a crime, big shocker! I have nothing against immigration, but illegally sneaking into a country IS ILLEGAL and should be prevented.

  • @jheit1 True that!! Hence, the word ILLEGAL!

  • And it's 56% of Americans who see ILLEGAL immigration as a serious problem because the other 44% is probably ILLEGAL anyway...

  • @commentator10 Gabrielle Giffords has nothing against immigration. She has something against ILLEGAL immigrants and drug smuggling. Her major in college was Latin American History. She did her thesis on the Mennonites. So I don't think she's making it an issue. She's acknowledging it and even mentioned that Northern Mexico deals with the drug smuggling and these illegals every day. The term "illegal" means they came here illegally and usually bring drugs/violence with them. How is that okay?
