An extract from a DVD that i made of the EDAM groups run to Plockton in May 2008. A few of us took advantage of the great weather and made the run up and over to Applecross. Played to the soundtracks Voodoo Child by Rogue Traders - Blades Of Glory by Bo Bice - Have A Nice Day by Stereophonics

  • I plan a bike ride from Warwickshire this winter. Can you give me a town name close to the beginning of this beautiful route so I can find it on the map? Btw, is it snowy in winter?

  • @daemon4arose I'm sure they will close the barrier for this road during the winter if the weather closes in?

There are many web sites available for Applecross giving details of accomodation in the area and links to google maps for directions.

    Cheers

    Neil

  • Whoops Must have missed the sign at the start I drove a Massive Campervan up there! Took me about 4 reverses to get around one of those bends LOL!

  • @Rednosty1 You must of got some queer looks from the other road users when they saw you heading up the pass towards them? Sounds like it was fun though!

    Cheers

  • @PANRIDER4862 You could say that and it was no small Camper either!

  • @Rogerborg Pleased the video brought back the experience for you. I am just back from another Plockton bike weekend last night, but the weather was not good enough for the pass so went around Skye instead.

    Cheers

    Neil

  • Tailgating a monster Jeep up this road on a ropey Chinese 125 ranks as one of the best experiences of my life, biking or otherwise. Thanks for posting this vid and reminding me of it.
