Footage from the Charlton floods that happened January 2011. The video was taken by Kelvin Getley when the flood was approximately at it's peak.

There is no audio to the video as it was mostly just noise.

  • I used to live there, and is that Bradly in the Video??

  • @killa40490 Yeah that's Bradley. It was better following along so everyone could see how deep the water was in the main street.

  • Wow, that's great footage of a terrible flood. I'm sending good wishes from Washington State, US. I hope your town gets back in shape quickly.

  • @ilikecooter Thanks for the good wishes. I just drove through town as the water has dropped a bit (enough to drive around to most places anyway) and it's just unbelievable the amount of damage that's been done. It's going to be months before things are back to normal at least.

  • @GamingMaster2000 Thats a good idea, it was prity deep round main ST

  • G'day Gaming. I agree, it's going to take months to get some sort of normality back in town. The Red Cross, CFA & volunteers etc have done a terrific job helping people out. The worse part has been cleaning up our houses, but at least the majority of that horrible smell has gone. All the best mate.

  • My dad lives next to the Avoca river at Charlton. I can't believe this is happening all over again! I have no idea how badly his house and property has been damaged, but after seeing this footage, I know its not going to be good. My heart goes out to all the people in Charlton, they are strong people and will all pull together to help each other out.....thats the country spirit!
