The People Choose to Unite in Government Plaza




Minneapolis, MN. -- After this Saturday's open forum in Stevens Square Park, through a group consensus, we now stand firm in our plans to unite at the Hennepin County Government Plaza. This plaza is the new focal point for the OccupyMN movement.

Previously our plans were to stand in solidarity with those that occupy Wall Street by rallying at the steps of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. The plan has changed to reclaim the Government Plaza as the "People's Plaza".

It is time to establish a new system that values people over profits. We are the 99% and we have are moving to reclaim our mortgaged future.

The Minnesota Occupation Begins:

Greetings, I've had the idea of everybody bringing buckets as drums and so if/when the tear gas flies the buckets can be used to peacefully cover the canister and not allow the chaos to ensue. Giving the thugs a weeks notice is ballsy. I have a few other ideas too, like holding a press conference and send out a public apology to the protesters of the past the WTO, the IMF, NAFTA, G8, etc. The people that have taking the hits and tear gas trying to warn us and nobody listening deserve props!

@brianfanslau There was an event in Latvia not too long ago that was a sort of funeral service for the Oligarchs. Now they only have 3 that they are dealing with, but I thought that it would also be a good visual and would spread around well. I've got a thousand ideas, another is to push for a 3rd, 4th, or more parties to be represented instead of the bs 2 party thing...oh, and the Citizen's United thing...oh boy that's the ticket. A huge sign that says WE ARE CITIZENS UNITED!!
