  • is this one of those cepheid variables?

  • @sadathusain As far as I know, VY Canis Majoris is a semi-regular variable. It's variability is a little more erratic than Cepheids.

  • How can I be an astronomer?

  • @radngnarlysk8 Be extremely good at calculus, and apply to a University that has as Astronomy program. Short of that, you can become an amateur astronomer by becoming as experienced as possible with telescopes and vigorously studying the night sky.
