I wanted to see what my TomTom ONE XL would do during a flight. It works wonders as you can tell exactly where you are and the speed you are traveling. For those of you who want to know or THINK you know it all, YES YOU ARE ALLOWED TO USE NAVIGATION DEVICES ON AN AIRPLANE AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T TRANSMIT ANYTHING! Here's a scan I made of SouthWest's Electronics policy page. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/PA/electronics001.jpg

  • YES, GPS devices ARE allowed on the airplane. See the link in the description. I say this because many people argue that you can't. Even the flight attendant thought it was cool.

  • LUDICROUS SPEED BABY

  • I love how my GPS keep screaming: "YOU ARE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT!!!"

  • @sageuvagony : Really? According to US Airways I got told NOT to use a GPS on the airplane at all.

  • That's some cool stuff.. looks like your car's doing 500 mph!!

  • It look like great and perfect on your TomTom XL GPS on plane. I have it. I not use it on plane yet. Remember do not use swearing words on comments. Ok?

  • @seetherage, exactly!

  • the GPS is not a transmitter.

  • GPS will work, no problem on planes. A lot of commercial planes are fitted with them to aid in navigation. They have good antennas, but it is essentially the same thing as a TomTom or Nuvi

  • Damnit, I tried mine on a flight from Ohio to Arizona and it wouldn't work...

  • Technology!
