Well, sorry for the crappy lighting. But anyways. I think cross-training in western boxing has helped out my TMA/Kung Fu quite a bit. Here we are just working on a few concepts.

  • Way too practice your kung fu and make sure it works! I respect all kung fu men who actually try to spar with it and see what happens. Too bad you arnt near me we could practice a lot. I live in Birmingham. You are up above me.

  • @MaharlikaAWA thanks. im actually getting worse each day. Like you, I have alot of joint problems from old injuries. im lucky just to be walking at this point. haha. enjoy it while your young!!!

  • nice offense man. a lot of kung fu guys (including me) are nervous about closing the gap and making the first move. when the clip started i was thinking "how am i going to tell who's who" but your techniques made it clear. i saw good use of the xingyi and yongchun. great job very inspirational!!

  • @airforceallie Thank you sir. Alot of trial and error. You have to get hit alot to learn how to not get hit. The only way to learn how to apply your techniques is to actually go out there and test it out. Thank you for your compliment. I have saw your vids as well. Your xingyiquan is coming along. keep it up

  • @randyds5 Ya well you can do low kicks and leg checks. I do that and I can do one high round kick with my right still. Im mainly a hands guy and also weapons now. i wanna keep up grappling I think I could do that okay just not do judo and get thrown all the time. i wanna be able to survive and win on the ground and also use what I can. I try to promote injured martial arts so people like us dont lose hope and keep training.

  • @Ronnock Damn , you impress me alot. I was thinking along the same lines. I think Shawn is a good fighter, but yeah, his rant deffinately set him back. It was kinda bullshit that M-1 gave him such a hard time about the roundkick, but Shawn shouldnt have freaked out like that. His defense and ground skills are excellent, but I totally agree with the chain punching. You can just walk up and chain punch someone, or else you will catch a hook. But, if you time it, its works great

  • @Ronnock Well hello Ronnock good to see you again. Hope all is well. Do you think his attitude had anything to do with being kicked out or was it his performance the judges were interested in? I have no interest in damaging my body in 'professional' fighting but I respect anyone who is willing to compete in a tournament and test their skill. Do you train in wing chun yourself? And don't you take some kind of grappling?

  • @MegaBeamish I recall that guy not getting placed on a team because he couldn't do a round kick...however, he did make quite the immature and inappropriate scene when he couldn't accomplish the objective. He didn't handle that situation well. I do wish that guy the best though, but I still think he needs to work on his chain punching and be more of a counter-attacker (like Wing Chun is suppose to be), than an aggressor. His WC looks sloppy when he's the antagonist.

  • I'll take your word about the MMA guys. I actually don't watch UFC or any of those fights for all the reason's you just mentioned. It's become too popular now. It seems like it's not so much about the spirit of competition as it is putting on a show it's a circus. Didn't you friend Shawn Abasi get thrown out for not being able to do a round kick or something stupid?

  • @MegaBeamish well, when the punches start flying I snuck in a few WC traps. But, I think Bong sau (which is the one I use alot) and Pak sau are the two easiest and most natural to use. And yeah, I hate following "the norms". If the whole world started to like xingyiquan, I would probably find another style to train. haha. I like to train what most people dont. Thats why MMA is getting stale. Everyone trains the same shit. But, then guys like Cung Le and Anderson silva come along and surprise you
