Whistles, a new comic book series by creator Andrew Hussie and published by SLG Publishing, the company that brought you Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez, tells the story of Whistles the Clown star of the Starlie Calliope circus. One day an accident nearly cost him his life, and he became exposed to the corrupt underworld of the circus, rife with murder and cannibalism. Forced to flee, he experiences the hardships of the world such as homesickness and prostitution. But his spirit remains bright and optimistic. The six chapter series documents his journeys, and his long quest to return to the circus and his master.

  • Is this the same thing we got on the Team Special Olympics site or a remake with better quality, or expanded storyline or what... does anyone have details?

  • The first "issue" for lack of a better word, is what was available on the creator's website. The forthcoming issues will be new material.

As it is, the download will only be 89¢, so it is downloading even if you have already read the free version will not break the bank.

  • That's nice! My "Thunder-Man Comic Trailer" cannot be surpass by your comic trailer.

    Excellent!

  • There will also be a desktop wallpaper included with the first issue, featuring a new illustration. All in all, not a bad value for 89¢.

  • Eh... I don't know if I want to pay to download something that used to be free.
