Saturn is a very powerful planet both in western Astrology and in Vedic Astrology. He is generally considered to be a punisher and as a malefic planet when it is only looking at Saturn in a negative perspective. He is a great teacher, unless you are given hardships in your life you are not going to learn. If life is very smooth, is like a bed of roses then no body is going to even reflect on what is life. They will lie down on the beach with the beer bottle or something and then spend time and that's what happening!

Most of the wealthy people will never even think about it. But, Saturn gives an opportunity for the soul to evolve putting you through hardships. It is true that during the Saturn period everyone suffers!

There are 2 types of things or the 2 divisions of time that you need to be aware of Saturn.
One is the Saturn Dasa, The saturn dasa, is a long period of 19 or 20 years. It will be a troublesome period where you will have to go through the life's greatest difficulties.

Next is the seven and a half years of Saturn. Saturn stays for two and a half years in each zodiac. It will be the time of suffering but also a period of great learning. And once you are out of it, then you will be prepared for a good life.

Going through the seven and a half periods of time or the Saturn Dasa will need help because it will be a really hard time. There are remedies for this like:-
Observe the Saturn Hora. The Saturn Hora come twice or thrice a day. Saturn Horas is the time when you can communicate with Saturn.
Light as many oil lamps as you can and you will be able to get connected with him.
There are other rituals like fire rituals for Saturn. You can participate and go to certain vortexes. There are fantastic vortexes for Saturn where you can easily connect with the energy of Saturn.

There is a temple here, where a king who came under the influence of Saturn became a chef. He lost his kingdom because of Saturn and he was advised to go to this vortex of Saturn. It's called Thirunallar which is situated near Pondicherry in South India.

You can do the rituals either by going there or through proxy. I have observed Saturn in many of my students lives and I have been able to help them to go through this phase by putting them through certain practices. They have to personally do these practices, perform rituals in temples and to do Homa in the Ashram.

Another ritual is to visit places of the handicapped people and to donate food items for them. Praying Saturn is also another effective way to get the blessings of Saturn.

I dont know about praying to saturn so that he will not be too hard on me but I like the helping out people who are less fortunate than myself part. In another video, he said that to do good for others confuses saturn? interesting.
