Studying with this man was an extraordinary experience in 1962-63. Like many my age, I began to become tough and powerful. Instead, I learned humility and respect.

absolutely fabulous that there is actual footage on Ishikawa Takahiko,, I have read so much about him and he was only one to give Kimura a hard time ,,kiruma referred to pushing on him like pushing on a curtain

Thank you Norman and Bob for evoking fond memories of the Ishikawa dojo in Philadelphia. I had the privilege of learning judo from Sensei Ishikawa from 1963-1970 and it was an amazing experience on many levels. Sensei was extraordinary- one of the greatest athletes of his age, yet he was humble, gentle, and philosophical. He had a very positive influence on my life.
