I know you guys are gonna want the recipe. For those that own the "Mixed Up" book please reference page 42 :o)

Ingredients are simple easy peasy:
1 cup of olive oil (your choice light, extra virgin, pure, whatever!)
1 cup of coconut oil (organic extra virgin unrefined coconut oil is best)
1 tbsp jojoba oil
1 tbsp carrot oil (I subbed it for avocado oil)
2 droppers or 1/2 a tsp of neem oil (this is my addition to the mix)
1 tbsp Vitamin E oil
1 tsp aloe vera gel
2 to 3 drops of rosemary EO
5 to 10 drops of lime EO (I am using lemon eucalyptus oil)
I am using 2 tsp of grapefruit seed extract to preserve but the rosemary and the lemon eucalyptus EO's will also help preserve the mix. :o)

There you go and please feel free to switch it up people!

  • My hair is THICK! but I am going to try this - I probably have to watch all parts first to make sure I mix it right! LOL

  • Yes Felicia, watching all vids will be very helpful lol. One thing I forgot to tell was to use a blender to make the aloe vera gel smmoth like water. Or just use alo vera juice in place of the aloe vera gel. :o) Remember practice makes perfect :o)

  • love your mixture it sounds so great!

  • Thank you. I am so very happy with it :o)

  • Sorry... I just listened again and heard you address that.

  • Was the shea butter an addition you chose to add? I ask because I don't see it in your write up of the ingredients below the video.

  • For Dryness & Locs this product works beautifully - Nubian Secrets Karite Creme! Do find time to use and review these products: NubianSecretsONLINE They seem to work wonderfully for my daughter & her friends with "Locs".The basic concept seems to be ..Cleansing & Conditioning! Especially for folks with intricate Braid styles, who don't want to take their braids down. One item has "FOAM" to soak in and then be rinsed out. Works great and saves a lot of time! These Nubian Secrets work!

  • Just an FYI: I was able to buy the book "Mixed Up" from Lulu.com; they are still publishing the book. I ordered the book a few days ago; I'm waiting for the delivery. You can download the pdf version (for arouund $5.00) or buy the book (delivered via mail for $17.71 plus s/h). P.S. Thank you for your videos; they are extremely informative and pleasant to watch. Also, I agree w/penn2pal should you write a book, I wld love to purchase one.

  • @pinkwolf78 I have not tried this as I latch my hair. I do not think there would be enough hold to keep a twist in place. Since it has 1 tbsp of shea and 1 tsp of aloe vera gel. Secondly it melts really fast and is made to be fast absorbing so I am not sure if it will stick around long enough to twist. Then again I do not have your hair so I guess you could give it a try lol

  • @hadespusey1973 So you know the user that responded was my husbands account. The words are mine however lol

  • @penn2pal Sorry I am late in replying. Yes I am considering getting all my recipes together to help the masses. But I have a conflict as I sell most of my recipes. Not this one though. I have a BUNCH of recipes just rolling around in my head lol

  • @donniedarko88888 Sorry I am late replying. Yes I find that my hair does grow quite rapidly with this mixture. :o)
