Fine Game-collage about the Atari 2600 with some of the best games, some of the worst and some of the rest. With funny commercials. See other tributes to most famous consoles and computers on my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Stevieb321
@Despatche yes, I know what you mean: the sega CD, the 32X and the Neptune, right? yeah, they were trying to extend the lifespan of the genesis, but they made too many systems at the same time.
anyway, I haven't seen sega commercials yet. of course, sega is still alive, and even if it isn't making consoles anymore, it's still producing arcade and home titles. Atari wasn't that lucky, the only thing that remains today is its logo. bad decisions lead to bad results.
@Alaska1925 I dunno. Sega got away free when they said it, but then they started making stupid decisions. Not even the kind you'd get from being big-headed (because that's not the big issue), just really really stupid decisions all around. Of course, Sega is still alive.
@dogbert2010 E.T. was fine and had actual inspiration the whole way down; Atari ruined that game through other means. Pac-Man was a terrible project from start to finish, however.
what caused atari to fail was bad decisions made by the heads of atari. they had great ideas but wishy washy about how to implement them. pac man was rushed, e.t. was rushed, which is why those games failed. atari was a great system a lot of fun. if they had implemented what nintendo did, by blocking and controlling the licencing of thrid party manufactures, they would have really controlled the market.
@luigi1fan64 what caused the game crash was too many games on the market produced by non game companies wanting to get in on the game market. the market was flooded by too many bad games of other companies, just to make a quick buck. atari was approached by nintendo to market their system, but atari said no.

@Alaska1925 The Sega CD was fine, actually. But they had no idea what they were doing with the 32X.
Sega does what Nintendon't and all that.
