Bedini device constructed on January 26-27, 2008. If you know of any way to better the device please post. Such as more magnets or any other method of greater efficiency.

Hi. I have used the same multimeter, the one that you were trying to measure amps with. What happened is the fuse that protects the multimeter from max current flow blew. To replace this fuse, there should be some screws on the back of the multimeter, take the back off, and there should be an easily accessible fuse as well as a nine volt battery. Take this fuse out, go down to radio shack and buy a replacement fuse. Replace blown fuse with new fuse in multimeter and you should be good to go.

yup, done that already. I still get inaccurate readings when compared to a brand new multimeter. It has to be calibrated, but at that rate might as well replace it, which I did. Sadly, it damaged the circuit board as well. The inner circuit board has some burns on it indicating damage to it. NOT PRETTY AT ALL! Thanks for the heads up akman360.

Thanks for your input, it's greatly appreciated. Tomorrow morning I'll fetch me pounds of 22 magnet wire (23awg - I have a few more pounds). In the current setup I used up 375ft. of 20-23 magnet wire and has quite some torque. I'll keep you posted.

I hope you get your amp meter going. It looks like a perfect circuit! The only thing I would change is the coil. To get a clean trigger and more volts off the collapsing end of the circuit, you must use 22-23awg wire with 26awg wire wrapped as tightly together as possible 900 turns. Mine is 22 gauge and 26gauge respectively 650 turns. I was getting results as far as charging the second battery but it has very little torque.

If you make a bigger wheel with more magnets you can then increase torque. You mentioned using neo's, just make sure you are using the 200c magnet wire. Others have had good results but notice the coil reaching warm temperatures. My alternator is still on the drawing board. Nothing concrete as of yet. But soon enough. I'm hoping of creating alot of power(watts). Will be using two rotors to increase the magnetic field. Were you able to get the amp meters running and showing results?

Use a sense resistor to measure the current.
