Carbon neutral cooking with biodiesel in the form of cotton wool balls that have been soaked in vegetable oil.

Results: Total burn time for the 6 cotton wool balls 27 minutes
The whole litre of water did not fully reach a rolling boil. It was without a lid and one whole litre! It reached the temperature of a really hot soup or maybe the temperature that is a bit too hot for washing up in.
I will try again with a larger stove size soon.
This small stove was a good trial run, but a larger stove and abetter wind break may do the trick biiig time :)

Summer is nearly here so lets use the time to cook in a carbon neutral way.
Saving the planet and having fun at the same time :)

  • It may burn even better if you put some air intake holes around the middle of the can?

    Just a thought.

  • @MrBillTroop73 Its made from two cans, one in the other. The outer can has a ring of holes around the base to let air in. The inner can is suspended above those holes and has a mesh of holes in thebottom and around the base on the side. That provides the air intake. Watch my other videos on wood gas stoves.
