Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills, Michigan has been featured on Food Network's Unwrapped. The segment features the cider making process and the beautiful grounds of Yates Cider Mill.
@shantiquarian It is still water powered! They press using power from the same turbine that was installed in 1894 when the larger mill was built over the original foundation.
in 1959 we use to go to yates when I was 7. we walked down the railroad track from bloomer state parker to the mill. it was all country in those days without houses, bike trails,walking trails,and mass traffic jams. the mill is still the same but everthing around it has changed as commercial intrests envelope it. to bad. still nice to visit in the fall if you can put up with the crowds.never was crowded like that when I was a kid. all of Troy,Rochester, was open area then. now its yuppies. yuck!
glad to know there are somethings that you can count on after 50 yrs. I have seen a few changes but their cider and donuts are still the same. I remember the days when the mill was still water powered.

thats kool i used to live not even a half of mile from yates cider mill when i was a kid i would ride my bike there every day i miss rochester i would ride the trails around the cider mill and on the other side of the clinton river and that park across from there yates had the best cider in that town no i live in GA and cant get cider

Yate's treats their employees like crap. It's too bad, cause it's a really nice cider mill.
