No one can replace the voice. I mean come on,Steve perry was the one who saved Journey from being dropped from their record label, written more than half of the songs that they now still use, and is in the R&R hall of fame.
I wish Pineda all the best. It's cool that he got an awesome opportunity like this! I just wish that Schon and Cain would stop rehashing Perry's songs as they're unintentionally (intentionally even?) making Pineda look like a carbon copy :(
Arnel has so much potential.

why are you people cant accept the new guy?why are you full of hatred in your heart
if you dont like him then keep it to yourself...the more you say bad things to arnel you will not get peace of mind, or ..You cannot do Anything about it .Weather you like it or not...he is a part of the band now..you are waisting your time to Criticised him..I know you love the old singer to bits and so do i....But please..Avoid saying bad comments coz its not Fair for the guy coz he did'nt do anything bad..

look steven if you need a back up singer hit me up

But dont forget who wrote many of these songs .
He wrote the words to Lights , co-wrote Dont Stop
Believin , Ask The Lonely , Separate Ways , etc .
He also came up with the vocal melodies . If not for him Arnel would have no voice to copy and no melodies . Journey is Perry and Schon

Yeah, but one of 'em ain't Steve Perry ;-)

I've seen Journey with Steve Augeri and Arnel Pineda and both singers capture exactly what Perry did. It's impossible compare them but the fact is, Journey is much more Neal Schon and a lot less Perry than people realize. If I played Arnel Pineda singing some of the classics and didn't tell you who it was, you'd never know the difference because the band behind him has never lost their touch. On this, btw, Perry sounds like his voice is blown. :(

Wow! It's a good thing they're keeping they're day jobs!

There he is semi-retired and having a great time. I hope he has a come back when he gets good and ready and blows us away with his matured voice and a fresh renewed attitude! Love you Steve and thanx Perryfan4ever :)
