Technology has grown so fast and the legal system has been trying to catch up for years. Can the public demand proof that this information is only used as needed, cannot be stored in perpetuity, and cannot be used for "fishing expeditions." Taipale said this is the crux of the problem—there is so much information out there that it is unreasonable to expect that the government, under the right circumstances, cannot use this information for security reasons.
