STATE CHAMPS! - Forgotten Harvest Project Hunger

STATE CHAMPS! is announcing a new partnership with Forgotten Harvest, a non-profit organization that rescues prepared and perishable food and donates it to emergency food providers throughout Southeast Michigan. Forgotten Harvest is responsible for providing more than 1.5 Million pounds of food every month to organizations that serve our hungry neighbors. Their food recipients are agencies that many of your schools already know very well like Focus Hope, Salvation Army, Lighthouse, Capuchins, Fish and Loaves, Open Door Ministries and hundreds of others. This organization is as sophisticated as any business, as they are recognized as the most efficient food rescue organization in the nation. You and your students can help meet the growing need. The collaboration between STATE CHAMPS! and Forgotten Harvest can be shaped for your school. You and your academic organizations now have an opportunity to begin the battle against hunger right in your own community. Our goal is to work with each high school to create Hunger Free Zones. This project will give each school that gets involved the tools to battle hunger and suffering right in your hometown. We are also offering an unlimited amount of community service hours for your students.

Each school interested will be given a simple road map to help battle hunger. We are looking for a representative in your school to lead this project for us. One student and one staff member would be ideal. If you wish to reach us, send us an email at idea@statechamps.tv
