The Magnificent tells the story of three farmers from the cocoa region of Bahia Brasil during a period of splendor, excess and ultimately tragedy. In the mid Eighties, a devastating plague struck the plantations destroying their world in a matter of months. The landowners suffered financial ruin along with the loss of social respect, health and family. “The Magnificent explores the origins and the stages of this decay, capturing the characters' journey through economic, personal and spiritual rehabilitation.
