  • How much is food onbaord?

  • @secret1service On Amtrak's website, you can see the actual menu and prices for many long distance trains.

But roughly speaking, breakfast and lunch are in the $10 range, and dinner is closer to $20. However, meals are included in the ticket price for First Class Acela and sleeping car passengers, including the Autotrain.

  • Huh? When did they bring back linen tablecloths!!!

  • @WHLRYDR Ha Ha....and for a moment too I thought I saw the ghosts of Fred Harvey and the Super Chief.

I think over the years Amtrak has gone back and forth on dining car ammenities. They do a good job when you can catch them on the upside.

  • Wake up America and get back on the rails, leave those crowded and paranoid air terminals and learn to relax again.

  • A great way to actually, concretely, do something about a real stimulus in terms of jobs, infrastructure etc is...just book a train when you have to go somewhere. You'll be amazed at how less of a chore it is than flying. America had it all, really, once, and it just needs to remember and say 'hey, damn it, I want it back'.

  • @1957MCL amen!

  • @secret1service all food and beverages are FREE on Amtrak when you have a sleeper ticket. And a sleeper supplement is always for two person !! that means the second person needs only a cheap coach fare to have all the amenities including full menu service.

  • @lotwyo Amtrak is a privately owned company.

  • I feel hurried when I eat in the dining car!

  • just beautiful

  • Do they at least still use the china?

  • @1957MCL Great way to travel but damn its spendy !!!

  • Heinz "Syrup." Barf.

  • That is what I call a dining car. Not standing at narrow shelf eating a 10.90€ toast

    of the SNCF.
