China: Teacher Jailed for Photo Posting

And the Guardian newspaper reports that a Chinese teacher has been jailed for posting photographs of schools that collapsed after May's earthquake. Liu Shaokun has been sentenced to one year of labor camp work according to the organization Human Rights in China. If a Chinese is sentenced to a "labor re-education camp” they can't appeal it in court; it doesn't even require a charge or criminal trial.

Scores of schools across Sichuan Province collapsed after the 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck. Many building surrounding the schools withstood the impact, prompting questions on the quality of school construction across the mainland.
