Dejan is still a very promising young player. He is coming from the famous Slovan basket school for young players (Goran Dragić, Gašper Vidmar, Emir Preldzic). He passed most of the basket youth school's in Slovan. He is a good ball handler, has a good view on game and is primarily a good defensive player. He can easily assist ball to an open player and is a very good shooter. He is especially good at maintaining a steady hand at key moments of the game and was in his current club often used in last seconds of the game to turn the score around by shooting three points throw, which was highly successful.
He was member of the Slovenian Cadets national team; played at Basketball without borders in Treviso 2001; played at the 2003 Cadets European Championship in Madrid; played at the 2004 Cadets European Championship; was member of the Slovenian Junior national team; played at Adidas Superstar Camp in Berlin in 2005, where he ranked in finals in shooting three points throw; played at the 2006 Junior European Championship in Greece; member of the Slovenian U-20 National Team; played at the 2007 U-20 European Championship in Slovenia/Italy.
