Guitar legend Steve Vai will release his concert film and live album "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are" September 29th, 2009 on Favored Nations Records. The show was recorded and filmed at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN before a sold-out audience as part of Vais successful Sound Theories world tour.

Vai is widely known for both his unprecedented guitar playing techniques and the unique design of his signature series Ibanez Jem guitar. But his fans have become inextricably drawn to his melodic depth, and dynamic stage performance. The continued evolution of his craft is made apparent in the astonishing musicianship presented in "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are". The 2 hour and 40 minute set contains several new tracks and re-orchestrated pieces culled from his rich catalog. His guitar-wielding extravaganza in 'The Murder' is an artistic performance piece that must be seen to be believed.

The addition of virtuoso violinists Alex DePue and Ann Marie Calhoun add a dazzling dimension to Vai's compositions and stage show, delivering fans the unexpected edge they always expect. Other world-class musicians chosen for Vai's band are: Bryan Beller (bass), Jeremy Colson (drums), Dave Weiner (guitar and sitar) and Zack Wiesinger (lap steel).

"Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are" is available on DVD, Blu-ray, and audio CD on September 29th.

  • but steve via is gay...

  • @ChaosBurnsWithin oh and also - if they have sex they need to see a doctor to point out at least one of them needs to be a woman... a man wanting to wiggle his dick in anothers shit ? thats disgusting

  • @ChaosBurnsWithin did you read my last comment ? this song is total crap and i never want to have to come back here and hear it while i make another pointless reply , i dont give a fuck if hes gay ,if your gay or the pope is gay ,IMO his music is gay and as far as your question = "whats so wrong with queers" 2 men trying to make a baby ?

  • @imeddymonster lol, just because steve vai enjoys dancing around on stage doesnt make him look gay. a shit load of artists do that. its for entertainement value and theyre having fun. steve vai is married so hes not gay. and even if he was, whats so wrong with queers? alot of them are good guys, just like alot of straight people are good guys, sexual orientation has nothing to do with being right or wrong

  • @ChaosBurnsWithin

still looks fuckin gay .. please dont comment back because i realy dont want to come back to this crap to make another comment back at you .. again it was bad enough to listen to the first time.please dont torture me any more .. you win .. this is just wrong .. you evil bastard ....

  • @imeddymonster not as in an old person you dumdum... as in "an old plain folks who dont know anything about music theory" kind of any old person. and i listen to classical guitar and flamenco, and i hear a tiniest bit of influence in it, mostly what he does is lydian, which isnt used in flamenco... flamenco uses phrygian, harmonic minor, minor, and major mostly. but really as long as u retain the style u can use any mode u want to

  • @ChaosBurnsWithin

" can enjoy it more than any old person" now hold on a second ..... old person ? plenty of old people have been makeing music like his for over hundreds of years spanish flamenco and clasic guitar plays a big roll in what ive heard of vai's music along with jazz and blues , only difference is vai loves Vibrato a bit to much

  • the asian butt rocks

  • @imeddymonster Vai doesnt make music for any particular audiance, he makes music that he wants to hear and that he thinks is beautiful. alot of his music has religious titles and sexual titles and religious and sexual feels, thats what vai plays because thats what he enjoys. also, i know maybe one or 2 girls who play guitar. i know like 20 guys who play guitar. alot of vai's audience are guitar players because they see the technicality behind it and can enjoy it more than any old person
