Ogden grain elevator implosion/demolition Oct 16, 2011 - Calgary, Alberta (HD video using Canon 7D)

Taking down the old grain elevator inside the city of Calgary, Alberta Canada. It used to be that Ogden was a suburb just outside the city limits when the grain elevator was originally built in 1914 to service farms in the region ( http://www.calgaryheritage.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1062 ). Now, many years later, the city has expanded to 1.25 million people and its location has been enveloped by the rest of the growing city, it was determined that it was no longer useful in its current location. It has not been relocated as other larger ones have been built outside of the city with better access to farmers.

i was there watching this happen and it is sad to know that this building was exploded after 98 years and it was there during the world war 1 i love you calgary! :)
