Yes, I realize this is about a week late to be timely, but give me a break, I've had finals to grade.

  • not to be a total dick, but was'nt lovecraft some sort of racist?

  • @ThoseGamerguyz Probably, but I can't say I know for sure. He was a misanthrope, so I doubt he cared much for anyone, regardless of skin color.

  • "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die"

  • @ThoseGamerguyz actually yeah he was, what would be considered today, crazy racist. its just a part of the culture he lived in and was influenced by. although as time went on his prejudices seemed to have been dulled

  • @SisyphusRedeemed Lovecraft was extremely racist; he had a great dislike and fear of pretty much anyone who wasn't white, male, and Anglo-Saxon. He wrote poems about how horrible blacks were; despite marrying a Jewish woman, he was a raging anti-Semite; and he was convinced Asians would conquer the world.

  • @Denynn lol i dont know to be able to write such awesome novels and not be able to see past such hallow cultural values sounds kinda bs to me. then again i may be wrong as well.

  • @ThoseGamerguyz Of course he was, that's how the culture was back then. Social awareness just hadn't progressed to the point it's at now, you can't fault him for the culture he grew up in.

  • This was delicious, like the way our souls are to the Elder Gods. Someone's earned a new subscriber.

  • Cthulhu fhtaghn!

  • I would like to see proof and evidence that the C'thulhu Mythos are are accurate and correct.

No, really. I think that would be so kewl.
