Metroid Prime Early Plasma Beam

Getting the Plasma Beam very early in the game, before the Pirate Labs/Thardus in Phendrana.

I did it again so people could see it in a better quality.

This is done in Hard Mode, so if you try this in Normal Mode, you'll lose health slower than I did here in the lava.

This is done in the original North American version. There are many version differences out there.

For example, if you have the Japanese or North American/PAL Trilogy version, the pillar won't be there, making it hard to reach the spinners. In the Japanese version, you can dash jump off a Puddle Spore.

If you have the PAL (European and Austrailian) and Japanese versions, you can't walk on the metal ring like I do in the video. So you will have to L-Lock Spring Jump (look all the way down, hold L, jump, then let go of L to get an extra boost while doing the second jump) to the metal ring under the first Spider Ball Track box. Then you can get up there.

In those same versions, there is Bendezium blocking the Ice Beam door. So you'll need to get the early Power Bomb expansion from the Phendrana's Edge Area.

And finally, if you go up to find a lock on the Ice Beam door, then that means you have the North American Player's Choice version. So you sadly won't be able to remove the lock until you get the Grapple Beam.

Anyway, the rubble isn't there in the NTSC versions of the game.

I cannot do the bomb jump like you do. The lava holds me down and I don't get very much of a jump boost out of it. This far I've got Varia, Power Missile, 95 Missiles, 6 E tanks, SJB, Wave AND Ice Beam and Boost Ball. How do?

The first time I did this I didnt know you needed the ntsc version so the door was locked after all that work XD
