@aaronleintaylor. So where is your "better" stick weld video you little bitch??? Lets see it so we can judge yours. Again, i think the video posted is acceptable. It may not be a Picasso or Rembrandt, but its good enough for most beginners here. Again, post your best welding demonstration bitch. Otherwise get yer ass back on the corner workn you little trick.

On your 7018 no disrespect because that is a beautiful weld but you are supposed to run two fillers on the sides just barely grazing the edges but also meeting in the middle then you run your cap directly between the two fillers and forget the weave it does not help ive been welding for 4 years i am certified and it only causes more penetration which is the last thing you want but all of all tht is a great bead

@UniteForgetLeftRight i just don't like to weave to much just in my mind more chance for under cut sure out the feild u would just grind it out.But in the the last pass before the cap had nice bit of wash away but then again i am still in school haha and learning .Thou with 3g weld when i do it i do the root pass with then weave with a 3/32 rod then stringers from left right middle trying to leave a v so that it is more flat when i put the last in the middle

not fuck good

wow man, u sure u should be giving tips on welding or taking them? Horrible work... if u worked for me u would be fired after your first bead. u must prep the actuall welder's material for them before they weld it or something because your prep work was pretty nice compared to that crooked ass off tempurature turd u call a weld.

@cjsaders AWS often requires stringers for vertical however ISO trains weaves, i got ISO trained in Germany and the instructor would not let me do stringers for vertical, but my AWS trainer in the US frowned on weaves, he wouldent fail them automatically but he would scrutinize them closely, i personally prefer a cold weave cause i think they look friggen awesome when you do a good job but they both have pros and cons

your fill was way way too hot btw that huge puddle means your spilling alot

sorry, but that looks like crap. my bridgecam would tell you that cover pass is well over 1/8. and your weaving skills need a whole lot of help.

Awesome video. What would you do differently for the same fit up in the flat and horizontal positions? Ie. rod angle, amperage, whipping etc.
Aurange9 4 months ago
@Aurange9 flat: 0 degree to slight drag angle, filler and cap the same, maybe a little more heat. Horizontal: roo t work angle aimed slightly up, still 0 degree or a bit of a drag angle, filler and cap are stringer beads from bottom up, rod aimed slightly upward.

D1.1 doesnt specify rod thickness for tests the wps does. Unless told otherwise you could run whatever you like but its more likely youll be told what size to use by the test supervisor.

Any tips on grinding an even land?
gabesprofile 4 months ago
@gabesprofile a belt sander works good or if your using an angle grinder just make smooth consistent passes with it. To finish off, lay the wheel flat on the edge (instead of 30 degrees) and run it back and fourth a few times to true it up.
