It didn't take long for my news feed to be filled with people complaining about it once it was implemented. But let's face it, every time Facebook changes something, people complain. People don't like change, but then they forget and are fine with it.
I mean, do you remember what Facebook was like before the previous changes, or the time before that, or even the time before that? I can't even really think of how it was a couple years ago anymore.
So, let's quickly go over what's changed...
For those of you like me who were wishing you could have a news feed in your news feed cause you just can't get enough newsfeed... there's a live newsfeed, next to the recent story newsfeed.
Personally, I like this. I think it's cool to see a live scroll of what my friends are doing on the site right now.
A lot of people don't like that Facebook is choosing what should or shouldn't be important to them in the main Recent Stories section, but it's a bit like listening to children who don't like being told what to do by their parents, when it's for their own good.
Facebook uses a really complicated and advanced algorithm to determine what they put there. If you only go on Facebook once a day, or even less, instead of just seeing what was most recently added by your friends, it's giving you the top stories of the day from them.
It's like if you want to catch up on world news stories on YouTube or TV, you tend to watch shows that recap the top stories of the day. Because it's more important for you to know about the big events, than just what happened in the last half hour.
So if you have a friend that announces they're engaged that might be better for you to see, than the friend who announces that they're making a sandwich.
Otherwise, the news feed would simply be the most recent stuff that happened by anyone you're connected to. And while you may think that's what you want, when you really take an objective look at it, doesn't it just make more sense to not have to see that the friend you added in 2007 who you haven't connect with since is taking their dog for a walk, whereas someone you actually talk to and care about put up a photo of their new baby 6 hours ago, but you wouldn't have seen that because your newsfeed is full of garbage from people who post way too much stuff, way to often.
On cosmetic note, the photos in the newsfeed are a lot bigger. Which I like because I can actually see more detail and text when there's some without having to open the picture full screen. It also arranges multiple photos in a nice little 3 picture format, which is pretty. ;-)
There are lists on the left which allow you to see updates from certain types of people. So if you want to see what your friends in your city are talking about, or your family, close friends, etc - it's easy to do that and not have to just see updates from that girl from your kindergarten class or the guy you worked with 5 years ago who lives in Timbucktoo, cause let's face it, who gives a crap about them. You'd probably unfriend them if you didn't think they'd notice, or because you want them to still be able to look at your stuff!
Which reminds me about the Subscriptions. They're no longer just for YouTube! Now, when you have that pesky crush you're stalking who's not accepting friend request, you can subscribe to their updates to keep up on what they're doing, without them having to accept you as a friend. Also works great for people you've never met in person, but want to follow online.
Let's face it - if you have a lot of friends on Facebook, and most of us do - we just add anyone we've met before, it's not really a list of actual "friends" that we hang out with on a regular basis, so it's good to be able to sort them, to see the top things they're doing on the site, and to be able to connect one-way with the stories they're willing to share with the world at large.
So, my review of the Facebook changes is a thumbs up. You've got to embrace change and accept it, because there's plenty more on the way, believe me you!
Josh, I have not been back to your videos since the last webisode of Twitter Trends but WOW mistake on my part. You put great value on the web and I know how exhausting that can be. Thanks, Steph @wildfirechat

Oh Josh! you seem to be trying to deflect the comments towards you. You'd like to be able to brush it off but you can't. It hurts you and that's understandable. But you're not fooling anyone. Bye bye, and good luck in your plastic youtube future.

@Herecomeoleflattop Dude, what's with all the hate? Relax - these videos are meant to entertain you. If you don't like them, don't watch! Your attitude just makes you seem angry and sad. Life's too short for that!
