@oMeGaSoLjaX Honestly, I don't think any of the "Big Three" could have stood against the Axis alone. Not the U.S., not the U.K., not the USSR.
Someone I knew had a great analogy for it, comparing WWII to an MMORPG raid. The Soviet Union played the role of tank (they held down the bulk of German forces and inflicted 70% of their casualties), Britain was the DPS and off-tank, and America was the dual healer and nuker (all the aid and supplies sent to allied countries, and well ... you know).

@oMeGaSoLjaX Well, yeah. I've addressed that in some of my other comments to others on this video, specifically by comparing their behavior to Americans who think the U.S. won the war all by itself.
I get sick of the nationalist exceptionalism from all sides, you know?

@ShiggityBlam I'm sorry about my misinformed compatriot. Though it does work both ways. I for one am fed up hearing Americans say, especially on Youtube, "We saved your ass in WWII, you'd be speaking German if it wasn't for us" etc. when it couldn't be further from the truth. Continental Europe, maybe. But Britain, no sir.

Don't think you got the Virginia class' length right?! Otherwise the astute is 3x bigger lol both are great subs, I'm British so my allegiance lies with the astute class :)
-
Both classes look magnificent actually........but then i know nothing about submarines..
-
@MrXray2011 Astute class uses a 'Fukusjima type' Rolls Royce PWR2 reactor! Enough said!
-
Lets be adult about this....
The Astute Class is the best submarine in the world but the Nimitz and Gerald Ford Class Air Craft Carriers are the best in the world.
The US cannot be the best at everything, just becasue they're the biggest.
-
Yanks have far more experience in nuclear sub construction than Brits. They pioneered the technology and thought Brits how to build it.
Astute class could not have been built without Electric Boat's engineering assistance..

@TheRobbex I mentioned the film and its poor reception as a counter your claims of an American conspiracy to rewrite history via the film industry. Which you then arrogantly claimed "proved your point" because that somehow was an admission that every other American film on WWII is perceived as being historically accurate. That is certainly NOT the case.
If there's any boastful ignorance to be had, it's coming from you and your comments.
@MrDeano324 If we were as bad as you think, we'd have shorted you and focused our war effort entirely in the Pacific. Versailles sparked the fuse that led to WWII. Hitler's insistence that the surrender of France take place in the same RR car used for the surrender in 1918 proves my point. There were the treaties of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Trianon, and Sevres and the War Guilt Clause of Article 231 that rubbed Germany's face in it, too. Reparations gave birth to Hitler's power.

@MrDeano324 Oh, I get it. You don't even read the comments of people you reply to, you just look for an excuse to bully Americans with cherry-picked facts supporting a delusional belief that the United Kingdom won WWII without help from anyone else.
How very ironic, especially considering that both I and Planetar17 have objected to the straw men arguments you've made of us. But you're too busy screeching "LEARN SOME HISTORY YOU ARROGANT DICKS" to actually read comments, aren't you?
