I have seen Egyptian art where nobles and the rich were light complected. I was taught that the darker skinned Egyptians were the one's who labored out in the sun daily, and Egyptian women are almost always depicted as light skinned because they did not labor outside. Perhaps the darker skinned and the black one's are of Nubian descent.
