Lesson #39: Excuse me?

Sometimes it's hard to understand a conversation...like when you're at a noisy party. It happens to all of us. But the key to good communication is to "check information." Do this by asking the speaker to repeat their words.

Here are a few easy phrases:

I'm sorry?
Excuse me?
Pardon me?
Could you repeat that, please?

You can also repeat the information back to the speaker like this:

Did you say fifteen or fifty?


OK, repeat after me:

I'm sorry?
Excuse me?
Pardon me?
Could you repeat that, please?
Did you say BLT Eigo or ham and eigo?
