Hey folks! I have finally uploaded a LITTLE video about my haunted house coaster that you have been asking to see. I want it to be known RIGHT NOW that this is a DARK RIDE constructed LIKE a roller coaster. So I don't want to hear how it doesn't do anything or it doesn't have any hills or it doesn't do a loop. It's a DARK RIDE. Dark rides DON'T DO LOOPS. Well' at least in my book, and when I'M BUILDING THEM, they don't. Plus I don't have that kind of money.
Secondly this is a video about it being UNDER CONSTRUCTION! So it is understandable that it is NOT FINISHED IN THE PICTURES!
Lastly I want it to be known that I ran out of time assembling the haunt part of the dark ride. My party started before I could finish the decorations so you are seeing something that is INCOMPLETE when it was supposed to be finished.
With all of that out of the way let me talk a little about what you've been looking at.
The first picture is both the Thor's Hammer coaster car an the Malevolent Manor car sitting together.
When considering the construction of the new car I did some serious upgrading in my car design. This time I built a 4 seater, not another 1 seater. Four fully sized adults can fit into this car comfortably. Secondly I didn't build the bottom lip for the entryways as tall as on the car for The Hammer, as to avoid someone having to lift their leg really high to get in.
Lastly I built entryways on BOTH sides so I can turn the car around and have it run the other direction on the track if I so choose.
Another upgrade in design that I did was I made the track with supports across the middle and not around the outside. Doing this saved me from the spacing fluctuations that plagued me in building The Hammer. Also I built the track sections only 6ft long as opposed to 12ft long like the ones for The Hammer. All of these track pieces are made the same, so I can interchange them anywhere. I can in the future make more pieces and make the track much longer.
Another upgrade is that I made all the vertical supports completely detachable from the track. Doing this saves me MOUNTAINS of storage space in comparison to The Hammer which has the vertical supports welded straight to the track.
Unfortunately I really ran out of time in construction and I didn't have time to motorize the car. The car will have a motor in it that propels its along the track. I am currently working on that now. As for my party, I paid a friend of mine to push the car around the track like a shopping cart for the evening.
All of these photos were taken on October 5th, 6th,7th & 8th of 2007.
Thanks for your support! I hope you enjoyed the video!
