Juhi Chawla Talks About Her Admiration For Sridevi: "She Is A COMPLETE Artist."

One of Bollywood's most popular leading ladies (and one of my all time faves), Juhi Chawla, talks about her admiration for screen legend Sridevi in this audio interview from 1997. It comes from a series of short interviews Juhi did with Shah Rukh Khan about their favorite songs and artists . . . Juhi segues away from music and toward acting when discussing her idol, Sridevi, whom she describes as being a "complete artist." Sounds like she's another die hard Sridevi fanatic!

It's especially interesting considering Juhi Chawla was once considered a rival of Sridevi's and went on to sign several roles which were initially offered to Sridevi (i.e. Darr). Juhi also acted in two films with Sridevi early in her career -- her debut "Sultanat" and Yash Chopra's "Chandni" -- though she did not share any screen time with 'The Devi'.

Juhi was also the first choice for Urmila Matondkar's role in "Judaai" which was Sridevi's last film, but she turned down Boney Kapoor who had wanted to bring the two actresses together for the first time on screen. (Manisha Koirala, Karishma Kapoor and even Kajol were considered after Juhi declined). They did come together briefly for a Lux Commercial featuring Shah Rukh Khan (along with Kareena Kapoor and Hema Malini).

LOL, that is a still from "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja" from the song "Main Hoon Roop Ki Rani" ... obviously inspired by Lucille Ball. Her performance in that song is a marvel of physical comedy!
