Hey mrho4speed,
Thanks Man! The place that did the motor was in in Kansas City, Kansas. Itemized every nut, bolt etc. Cost was $2500. She so AWESOME. I'm ashamed because Mr. Wangers wanted me at his party with her and I have not had her out since that photo shoot for MCR which was January or February. Nuthin' worse than a beautiful car like her sittin' and not gettin' driven. I'm ASHAMED.
P.S. Love the Pypes!

@chitownbluesy Saw your car in MCR and "Pamela" is a beauty. Can't get enough of these super nice and reasonably priced old GP's!! Who did the motor? Someone in Chi-town?
-

-
where did u get that exhaust from? im restoring my GP as well..

Nice car! Did you have any problem installing the x-pipe system? What was the kit number you used? My dad has a 69 as well, and was looking at pypes x-change kit.

Man, I dig it. I've got a '69 with the 428 and a Hurst 4 speed. The motor was rebuilt in 1994 and done to the H.O. specs, so it's now at 390 H.P. Jim Wangers has seen Pamela (my baby) and told me DO NOT change anything on her, cuz I wanted to put on headers, and a cam and change the rear end from the 323 to either a 410 or 456. I only drive her to shows, she sits in storage, but man, she is fun when I take her out. The torque is SICK. Out of the factory it was 472 ft. lbs. Nice Poncho!

The Grand Prix, contains beuty and performance.
In my opinion, the Gp is one of the few cars that always was a performer and looker since its birth.
Proud owner of a 06 GP

Nice deep tone! Sounds great!

@chenglok - It's funny you should mention that color combo. That is the same color that she originally was, right down to the black vinyal top! The underside of the deck lid still wears it.
-
Fast69GP, may I suggest "Pontiac Mediteranian Blue"? (1969). That was the color of my '69. She also had a black vinyl top. I really miss that baby. I now have an 05 Grand Prix, GTP. She has the spirit of the '69, but too damned many bells and whistles for my taste. But, there will be no more Grand Prix's. =Stefan=
whats been done to the motor? or at least lemme know the cam...smile!

The cam is a Comp 270 Magnum flat tappet. It also has Harland Sharpe 1.65 roller rockers. Ported #96 heads that flow about 240cfm. Performer RPM intake with Holley 750cfm double pumper carb. It's still the factory bottom end in her.

who did the engine and head porting? thats the same way i plan on freshening up my 455!

I actually purchased the heads off of ebay already ported. They were ported by Nunzi Performance. I had Ferrea stainless steel valves installed and a 3 angle valve job done with new valve guides and milled at Tyson's Machine in Sterling Virginia. The bottom end is factory pontiac. I did the cam and everything else. It's actually the combination I had on a 400 and just swapped everything onto the 455 shortblock. A fairly mild combo that performs very well. Very streetable.
