Son apparition l'an dernier en solo avait soulevé d'enthousiasme le chapiteau. La jeune pianiste japonaise revient cette fois épaulée par le bassiste Anthony Jackson et le batteur Simon Phillips, membres à part entière de son Trio Project. Enfant prodige (elle a donné ses premiers concerts à l'âge de douze ans), elle a déjà, la trentaine passée, une carrière éblouissante, jalonnée de récompenses pour ses cinq albums déjà enregistrés. Son style brillant, énergique, conjugue maintes
influences, du classique au jazz en passant par le rock et la pop. Ce n'est pas par hasard si celle qui fut élue meilleur musicien de l'année 2006 a pour mentors des pianistes de l'envergure de Chick Corea et d'Ahmad Jamal. Elle devrait, une fois encore, connaître le triomphe à
Marciac.

@makkreol Simon's always played in that orientation, & just happens to be my favourite player. A supremely musical master of rock power groove yet cuts it across multiple genres with total credibility. Blows me away every time.
