OMG! I am loving You Tube! This is just what I needed. I wish I could hear it in the churches I visit these days! We grew up on these soul stirring gospel hymns!

Now let us all go back... Back to the old landmarks. . . These songs, these prayer songs, these testimony songs were foundational to the worship experience in the local Black Baptist Church. Learned to carry a tune and hold a note singing these hymns. We must not lost the legacy of this music that "brought us over". We must share with our children and if possible their children. . . Perhaps you are not aware, songs in this rythm and cadence take us all the way back to Mother Aftrica.

@pamwilliams8084 I know the feeling. When I was a lil kid I always wished I could sing one but really never knew the meaning of them. Now that I am 30 it saddens me that non of the churches in my area still sing these. The worst part is that most of the new pastors have never even heard of these SMH We can bring hip hop, dance, rap, and even krump into the church but cannot sing an old spiritual which our people survived on!

good ol Baptist singing.. So glad to be Baptist. I maybe young but hearing theses old hymns it makes me happy.... when I go back to Mississippi Im a sing this one..
