I saw this DIY hackle on the yarnzombie blog and decided to make one of my own. The cost was under $5 and all it really required was a little elbow grease.
Here I am loading the Hackle. I try to pull of a roving, but have to stop when I run into trouble. It took me 3 different tries before I could pull of this wool in one piece.
This is a sussex/corriedale fleece I bought locally from a meat producing farm. It was filthy dirty and I had to soak it in a hot bath 5 times to get it where it is now. There is quite a bit of lanolin in it still, which I don't mind. This is my first time ever using s diz so be kind to me.
