Starting at the historic Roman Ruins and Villa on Long Cross estimated to date from the 3rd and fourth centuries to my 2nd School as one of the first pupils. Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Infants was built in 1955, Mr Miller the 1st Head Master. The House in the Garden Kings Weston Bristol, near the wonderful Kings Weston House dating from the early 1700's and the Southwell Family, is another haunt for myself Terry in the 1950's and 60's. Not knowing the history of the buildings we boys loved to fish for tadpoles in the pond. The stables in those day where derelict but later rebuilt as a Headquarters for the Somerset Police. Seen in this clip is the grassy meadow and slope looking down over Lawrence Weston. Now a feature not able to be missed is now the 2nd Severn Bridge in the distance over the river of the same name to Wales. Close also over Kings Weston road is the Iron Bridge, a steep grade dreaded by double decker bus drivers of the old Bristol K6A's. Ahh Memories Comments welcomed.
