Architecture and design students from across the world gathered in Minnesota for the 54th annual FORUM, the annual meeting of the AIAS. Hosted by the AIAS University of Minnesota Chapter, the event attracted 625 students and professionals for four days of programming and discourse surrounding the theme of the conference: Connections. In a time where so much remains uncertain about the future of architecture and design industry, FORUM 2009 helped students to explore how connecting with our minds, the profession, our communities and the world can help to prepare the future generation of design leaders to meet the challenges and opportunities they will face as they enter the profession.
