To mark the 10th anniversary of the Bridge Walks for Reconciliation, a new public awareness campaign has been launched asking Australians to recommit to reconciliation—and 'help finish Oz'.

The campaign features well-known Australian faces, in a slightly different light, including Jack Thompson, Jonathan Thurston, Andrew Denton, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sigrid Thornton, Adam Goodes, George Negus, Ernie Dingo, Shannon Noll, Neil Perry and Gyton Grantley.

A new social networking site called 'Unfinished Oz' will be central to the campaign—where people can register their support and place themselves on a map of Australia with a pixel of light.

Unfinished Oz users will be connected to other people on the map and the site will offer a range of ways for people to get involved in the reconciliation process.

The aim is to create an online peoples movement, connect all of the individual pixels of light and ultimately complete the map of Australia.

  • what the hell is stan walker doing there he's a kiwi

  • @autubeuseriam

it was a supposedly honorable act by the Colonial Authorities to recognize indigenous rights and hierarchy.

several years later those chest plates were found on alcoholic fringe dwellers

ever since then any charitable suggestion such as say land rights, sorry speeches have really done nothing for reconciliation

however, stuff that seems neo-colonial and harsh have given the Indigenous community real success, in terms of general well-being

  • A pointless gesture...unfortunately

A lot of people supported 'make poverty history' and now 'unfinished oz' reckons people putting a message on a website is going to make any difference.

the same people would scorn at the Howard governments actions of 'practical reconciliation' that actually tacked the issue at it's helm, not pointless gestures that really achieve nothing in the long term

let's think, late 1700s- early 1800s... many indigenous tribal elders were presented chest plates cont..

  • Thought it was an ad for coloured contact lenses..

Does it make me a racist if I think they look prettier with light eyes though?

  • Its about seeing each other with different eyes, this advert is how we can conduct ourselves on a world scale too, it starts with all of us UPR = Unconditional Positive Regard For All & I Support Reconcilliation here at home in "Australia" but more than that " The World ", after all We All Live On Mother Earth ~ Peace ~.☆☆✔ Kudos

Uninformed opinions as usual. Reconcilitation isnt the concept of Aboriginal people carrying on. It the concept of black and white. It is also anglo-saxon ideology as much as it is Aboriginal of sharing Australia. It not just about Aboriginal people wanting to get along but non Aboriginals as well...
