@pc300780 Couldn't agree more; they take a special place of honour in 20th-C Western music. Remarkably creative 20-somethings weren't they?! Would The Beatles be our closest contemporary equivalent?

Thankyou preservationhall01. According to the michaelminn discography: "This is the final recording session with the "classic" Hot Five lineup (plus Lonnie Johnson). Hereafter, the "Hot Five" would be whoever Armstrong happened to be recording with."

I love Louis' old stuff. He and several others wanted to make "hot" music, and man were they ever successful. This piece is nice and relaxing.

That was kind of funky how it went into Lonnie Johnson playing guitar on this. Is this the original recording, or was that just added in for this video?

@backstageblues This was the original recording. In those Dec'27 sessions in Chicago, Lonnie Johnson was added to record Hotter than That, I'm not Rough, and Savoy Blues. See the comment of filra below. Thanks for your interest.
