Here it is folks: The Grudge Match.

It's William Shatner vs Rush Limbaugh.

This is a segment from William Shanter's talk show, Raw Nerve.

A rare overtly political moment for Mr.Shatner and a rare overtly reasonable moment for Mr. Limbaugh....well, for a bit anyway.

Bill's expression at 1:31 is priceless.

Well, at least he made Rush laugh.

This is part of the Weekly Goofy Movie Clip feature of blog "He Had on a Hat" by Terence Bowman of The Vestibules and On The Spot Improv. Check it out at http://terencebowmanblog.blogspot.com

  • @Stumpy44444 They could use you in Congress right about now.

  • If there's grilling in this clip, I don't see it. Shatner attempts to redirect the conversation back to health care like three times. Early on, he even says that he agrees with the basic premises that Rush lays out. There's a bit of back and forth on the war at the end but primarily they are debating health care. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that these issues have not been well thought out but, whatever the case, they are not likely to change.

  • Pretty sure the discussion here is just about health care and not housing, college or " whatever else you can think of". Also not so sure that those are accurate definitions of Capitalism or Marxism.

  • I am glad to see that the discourse remains civil and reasonable.

  • @BigKahunaz888 Rush seems to have all those traits, so he should be comfortable with any of those philosopshys.

  • @BigKahunaz888 Incidentally, have you read, or heard of Erich Fromm?

  • @milascave2 Simple, extremists such as Anarchists, Communists, and FASCISTS, have many things in common: Primarily:: Psychopathy extremism, Barbarism, inhumanity, and self destruction

  • @BigKahunaz888 If he sees government as the enemy, why does he not identify himself as an anarchist?

  • @bartonim he does not see unbridled capitalism/corporatism/fascism as a problem; he sees government as the enemy. His view is that there should not be gov. restrictions/regulations eg: on Voters Rights, Civil Rights, no FEiMA, no Food &drug, Parks service,EPA , Social security he wants privatized. Mussolini ecapsulates his rationale::Fascism s when corporate interests completely take over all other interests"

  • @fishblades many nazis raped, (and/or used some form of coercion to have sex) Slavs, and jews, that does not mean that they did not see them as sub human , or inferiior.

  • @bartonim

I didn't even know about this scandal until you mentioned it. Having read up on it he returned from the Dominican Republic with a bottle of viagra and was detained because the bottle had someone elses name on it. His Doctors name apparently for reasons of privacy, not surprising but still illegal.

Also I've been told by the Left for years that Rush is a racist yet they claim he went to the Dominican Republic for a sex tour hahahahaha. Why not Amsterdam?

  • @fishblades Oh, I think he's quite rude most of the time, and he likes to project, as well (witness his sparring with a caller over his hypocrisy about the Viagra/Dominican issue). His classic approach is to just try to belittle the caller he disagrees with, and pull accusations out of his ample behind. He's also a creep.
