I shot my fully broken-in Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 (.22 caliber version) into a book to see how many pages a variety of pellets would go through. Although this test shows nothing about how the pellets will react in animal tissue, it seems to be a popular test that many people want to see. So here ya go :)

  • I just resently purchased the same rifle, did you replace your piston seal, deburr, properly lube the piston seal with moly paste and such, or did you shoot the rifle as is but broken in? I shot a phonebook using crosman premeir hollow point pellets and I counted 432 broken pages, I was wondering if you would be willing to shoot a phonebook with the same pellet as I did and post your results, or tell me what book you shot and I could try to shoot it with the same pellets you did.

  • @ImprezaAlex Nah, I just shoot it broken in, I didn't know any places around that I would trust taking apart my gun and I didn't want to spend the money right after I had bought it along with a scope riser, 6-24x scope, new rings, a bipod and a barrel adapter for the bipod haha but I shot my english book when I was done with it :) not sure how i would compare those pages to a phone book's pages, but if I get around to shooting a phone book i'll message you and let you know what happens

  • hey dude, umm is that rifle a single shot rifle?

  • @KidMafia08 yup, its a break barrel rifle, you cock and fire one at a time

  • very good test! good job.

  • @XxAk47MoNsTeRxX What is better, the .177 or the .22 for hunting? People keep saying that the .22 is better because it is more accurate.. is your .177 any good and is it accurate?

  • well taking the gun apart is something you can do yourself, it is fairly easy, the benjamin trail np xl has a very common piston seal issue apparently that I didn't know of when I purchased mine last saturday, so I don't know if my gun has this issue because I don't have a chronograph so the only way I could compare to others is shooting a phonebook. but if you do get your hands on a phonebook tell me your results.

  • @ApotheosisTK117 `well acctualy its the number of pages penetrated x2

  • @mxrida97 hahahaha nice :)
